Historian Hugh Sebag-Montefiore, whose book SOMME – INTO THE BREACH includes several extracts from Edie’s diaries, had an article published in the Isle of Wight County Press newspaper earlier this month. The article focuses on Edie’s diary extracts for July 1916 and her accounts of the ‘takings-in’ of hundreds wounded and dying men from the Battle of the Somme.
